Display's

Take a look at some of our work, which is displayed around the nursery.

People who help us: The children created their own interpretations of emergency vehicles. They also chose whether they wanted to paint a nurse, doctor, vet, and police officer. We spoke about how all these people help us in our lives and especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. The children remembered that they clapped on Thursdays for our key workers and the children also made rainbows to display in our windows.

Autumn display: We created an autumn display for all the festivals that are celebrated during Autumn. We included Bonfire Night, Diwali, Harvest, Halloween and Remembrance Day. The children had lots of fun using lots of different resources and being creative with the resources.

Self-portraits: The children all made a self-portrait of themselves. We used lots of different resources to create our masterpieces. The children looked closely at their faces in mirrors and chose all resources themselves. We spoke about how everyone is different and that its okay to be different and we are all unique.

Observational paintings of Artic Animals: The children made some lovely paintings of Artic animals for our display at nursery. The children sat on a 1-1 basis with Crystal. They looked at Crystals iPad at pictures of Artic animals. Each child chose which animal they wanted to paint. They were all able to select the correct colours they needed, and they made some lovely interpretations of the animals. We also watched some videos of the animals in the artic to see how they live and what things they may eat.

Julia Donaldson display: During the winter we focused on several Julia Donaldson books. We read the stories at group time and planned lots of focused activities based around the stories. The children made their own interpretations from the books. We used lots of different resources to create our pictures. We collected sticks from the garden to make our very own stick men.

Dear zoo: Our focus book was Dear Zoo. The children all chose an animal from the story to paint. We looked closely at the pictures from the story and we also researched the animals on the internet and looked at the real-life animals in their habitat.
